Minglewood update
As you may have noticed.... Minglewood has been neglected recently. Not just the blog though, the company has fallen out of our family spotlight at the moment. Allen has made a decision that we couldn't possibly be happier about. Starting in a few weeks, he will officially be a full-time dad and farmer. What does this mean for Minglewood, you may ask. Well, Minglewood will live on in small-scale projects. Allen will continue to implement his skills to create, build, and manipulate what already exists into something better here on Gryder Farm with two little helpers (or with me to keep the helpers out of his way!). Right now his efforts are primarily focused on all those little things that have gotten put off in preparation for the transition to having the girls at home. And yes, he will still be taking jobs off-farm, but in smaller quantity.

What's in a name?
Allen is often asked why he chose the name "Minglewood." The answer is slightly different each time I hear him explain, but seems to always boil down to one simple idea: we are all every where we have been, everyone we have met, and everything we have done. Allen once said that he has never had a completely unique idea, but I find that quite the opposite is true. What makes his ideas, his designs, truly his own is that they come from bits and pieces of everyone and everything that make up who Allen, and who Minglewood, is today: a unique mingling of people, places, and ideas.
